Best known for his award-winning entry to the Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry Contest in the fourth grade and that one time he made the little league all-star team, in high school he found a passion for civic technology while working for Brooklyn Community Board 14, where he built one of the city’s first community board websites. Since then, he has done little of note.

Those little-noted things include working as a data scientist for the New York City Department of Sanitation, where he used technology such as machine learning and computer vision to improve operations and building products for IBM Smarter Cities. Jeremy studied computer science at The City College of New York’s Grove School of Engineering and holds a master’s degree in urban informatics from NYU’s Center for Urban Science and Progress. His project “New York Seeks Haikus” was featured in the annual Data Through Design exhibit, which highlights art inspired by NYC’s open datasets.

Jeremy is a hobbyist photographer, pizza snob, amateur bonsai dad and an avid board gamer.
